Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Dataway LLC collects when you use Examussim, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
Information we collect
Account data. Email address, display name, and password hash (when using email sign-in). We never store passwords in plain text.
Study activity. Questions you attempt, answers you submit, time spent per item, flags, bookmarks, and mock session results. We use this to power your study dashboard and spaced review queue.
Billing data. For paid plans, we use Stripe as our payment processor. Stripe handles card details directly and provides us with a customer and subscription identifier, a billing email, and the last four digits of your card. We do not store raw card data on our servers.
Technical data. IP address, browser type, and standard server logs used to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
We use personal information to provide the service, process payments, respond to support, detect abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We do not use your study data for advertising.
Subprocessors
We rely on a small set of vendors to operate the platform: Neon (Postgres hosting), Vercel (application hosting), Stripe (payments), and our transactional email provider. Each is contractually obligated to protect the data they receive.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your personal information, request a correction, or request deletion by writing to legal@examussim.com. We respond within 30 days. Deletion may not be possible for records we are required by law to retain (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
Retention
We retain account and study data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to allow account recovery. Billing records are retained for the period required by tax and accounting regulations.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising trackers or cross-site profiling. Basic server-side analytics are privacy-respecting and do not attempt to identify individual users.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
